Dayton Scream Park once again proves that a haunt doesn’t need an outrageous admission price to deliver a full night of Halloween thrills. With general admission holding at just $25 and parking completely FREE, the longtime Dayton attraction continues to provide an impressive amount of entertainment for the money. Open every Friday and Saturday September 11th- October 31st, 2026 from dark until Midnight.

From the moment guests enter, it’s apparent that considerable effort has gone into the detail, atmosphere, and overall presentation. The experience moves through an ever-changing collection of environments packed with props, lighting effects, animatronics, twisted characters, and plenty of unexpected encounters.

One of Dayton Scream Park’s biggest improvements over the years is the elimination of multiple stops and lines. There's now only one line, and once released into the attraction, guests are in for approximately 35-45 uninterrupted minutes of terror, humor, and absolute mayhem. One environment transitions directly into the next, allowing the suspense—and insanity—to continue building without lengthy pauses killing the momentum.

But elaborate scenery only goes so far in a haunted attraction, and this is where Dayton Scream Park continues to separate itself!

They did NOT slack on actors!

The cast is plentiful, energetic, and—most importantly—interactive. Characters aren’t simply stationed behind walls waiting to deliver a predictable scream. They engage guests directly, follow them through scenes, deliver dialogue, improvise based on reactions, and transform what could have been a quick scare into a memorable encounter.

That character-driven approach has long been part of Dayton Scream Park’s identity. Previous seasons have introduced an outrageous collection of personalities. This year’s stand out actor was Art the Clown! Keep your eye out for him as you navigate the attraction.

The park also understands that guests don’t need someone jumping out and screaming at them every thirty seconds to remain entertained. Some encounters are designed to scare, others to disgust, and quite a few leave visitors laughing while wondering what they just witnessed.

That unpredictable combination works.

The environments are equally diverse. Over the years, Dayton Scream Park has incorporated everything from clowns, zombies, meat markets, morgues, and children’s psych wards to radioactive zones, jailhouses, swamps, witches, aliens, and elaborate horror-movie recreations. Darkness, fog, confined spaces, spinning effects, water, animatronics, and large-scale props continually change the sensory experience.

Another element of Dayton Scream Park is the way they blend both indoor and outdoor scenes as the course winds its way up a ramp, down steps, weaves through a maze, and so on.

Production quality deserves recognition, but the biggest takeaway from this year’s visit was the sheer number and quality of actors throughout the attraction. The cast wasn’t simply present; they were engaged. Strong haunt acting requires timing, interaction, improvisation, and the ability to read the guests in front of you, and Dayton Scream Park gives its performers plenty of opportunities to do exactly that.

The attention to detail was equally impressive. Sets contain enough visual elements to encourage guests to look around rather than simply search for the next scare. There were scares at every height. Look up, look down, you will be kept on your toes the entire time. Props, lighting, animatronics, and environmental effects establish the atmosphere before the performers complete the scene.

The scenery creates the environment. The actors sell it.

And then there’s the value. For $25 general admission (with FREE parking), guests receive 35+ minutes inside the attraction, filled with detailed environments, numerous actors, interactive characters, physical effects, dark humor, and plenty of scares.

There aren’t multiple lines interrupting the action. There aren’t long stretches where it feels like the cast has disappeared. And there isn’t another parking charge waiting for you before you ever reach the ticket booth.

Instead, Dayton Scream Park puts the emphasis where it belongs - inside the haunt. Expensive props can impress you. Detailed sets can immerse you. Animatronics can startle you. But memorable characters are what you’ll still be talking about on the ride home. And Dayton Scream Park has plenty of them!

Over thirty-five minutes of terror, twisted humor, impressive detail, and character-driven chaos for only $25 with free parking to boot makes it easy to see exactly what you’re getting for your money.

And once you’re through that single line and unleashed into madness, there’s no stopping until Dayton Scream Park is finished with you! Dayton Scream Park is a proud member of the Ohio Valley Haunts Passport of Terror Tour!
