RECAP:  The adventure begins inside the DSP castle and through a twisting pipe maze before accessing a variety of scenes such as Plumber Joe’s that discovers the dirty tradesman licking feces off his plunger and toilet brush while stuffing bloody tampons up his nose!  Early encounters also include Checkers’ Haunted Circus, and a new adult-oriented “Alice in Wonderland” Tea Party complete with a “handful” of surprises courtesy of The Mad Hatter, an elusive, key-hiding Hare, and Alice herself coming to terms with her unexplored sexuality.

Progression is hindered by the howling Dr. Blackwolf dining on a human appendage; several gremlins sporting illuminating masks; a gory stop at Stitches' Meat Market that interrupts the irate fiend devouring bloody body parts and internal organs topped with his very own brands of special "sauces;” and a well-done "SAW" scenario that witnesses a captive caught in a reverse bear trap alongside the murderous Pighead!

Still to come is a comical jailhouse scenario where inmates caution against dropping the soap; an ungodly exploit in Hell with the devilish Chaos and his horned apprentice, Jeebus; and collisions with a killer clown taunting with a live, hissing cockroach; a pumpkin-headed assailant; an evil ventriloquist (Sullivan) and his talking mummy dummy; Lil Creepy's bog adventure through an eerily-lit swamp; and a near miss hit-and run from an ATV/Quad that charges up from behind setting the stage for a path-blocking encounter with Hillbilly Clown Bubba proudly displaying more of last year's pre-used Vaseline as he boasts, “I've got something for you pretty boy!"

An RV maze provokes a second clash with Bubba prior to a pool noodle battle with more eccentric clowns that’s followed by an all-out assault in Cell 69 by the infamous “Mad House Gang," Joker, B*stard, Thorny, Axel, Harley Quinn, and ring leader Jingles armed with his vast assortment of deadly weapons "Kachigga, Cleavage," and “Sandy” (hook)!  Together they surround a birthday girl from the next group, and serenade her with a vindictive rendition of “Happy Birthday” bringing her to tears as she cowers in their midst  fearing for her life!

The attraction concludes in “Hollywood” featuring recreations of well-known horror films where a life-sized "Good Guy" box is found to contain a living Chucky, and Freddy and Jason fight it out - “Ki, ki, ki, ma, ma, ma!” and "Gimme my hat back, B*TCH!"  Aliens commandeer Area 51; and Leatherface is responsible for a spark flying, blood spraying, “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” chase-out of Dayton Scream Park!

ANALYSIS:  Some of the most vicious characters of the season are annually found at Dayton Scream Park!  Interaction is strong especially from their more seasoned performers, many of whom are armed with an assortment of weapons, insects, etc., and there's no end to their taunting, wicked laughter, and tormenting assaults.  Mad House Gang continues to exert their dominance while creating threatening, relentlessly intense characters within their entrapment.  Dialogue is equally menacing, which serves to further amplify their scares.  Other top workers include Plumber Joe, Stitches, Bubba, Chaos, Cockroach Clown, Sullivan (Ventriloquist with Mummy Dummy), Lil Creepy, jail cell inmates, newly arrived Tea Party crew, Freddy, Jason, and Leatherface!  Jason vs Freddy brawl and elaborate Letherface/Texas Chainsaw Massacre scenes are some of the best scares in the OVH area!  In addition to this talented, veteran cast, a few more elaborate props have come to call this place home over the past few years making this hour-long haunt a legitimate Top 13 Attraction!

Previously visited scenes are partially visible at times through black separation screens. Additional detailing, better set designs, continued soundtrack expansion, and improved transition zone décor would take them to the next level.

Cost of general admission is $20 on Fridays and $25 on Saturdays.  Pay a visit to Dayton Scream Park where you’ll get the yell scared out of you!  And if they offended you, you're welcome!
