RECAP: The 30th season at Mt. Healthy Haunted Hall, themed “Fears and Phobias, exploits a variety of common anxieties and even down right panic. Returning favorites include their trademark “Hellevator” (this year featuring a Dr. Jeckyl/Mr Hyde character switch), a customer participation electrocution chamber, clown room, doctor's exam room, and of course the legendary Count Dracula! The Hall also features a crazed nurse caring for an elderly man in a wheelchair who needed to go to the bathroom, but she pushes him out of the chair instead screaming, “You need to die!” Scares continue out back courtesy of Mt. Healthy original character “Bug Boy,” a chainsaw-toting maniac, and a pair of spinning vortexes. Two wooden bridges challenge navigation, as one tilts from side to side, while the other one rocks back and forth, and their uniquely famous “Spinning Floor” makes a triumphant return to the attraction this season! New additions include a demented Dentist, spider-webs, bloody dolls, and a low flying vampire bat, and the adventure wouldn't be complete without their renowned, one-of-a-kind, OVH award winning maze!
ANALYSIS: As previously mentioned, this year’s haunt preys on well-known fears & phobia’s that include, the fear of being buried alive, fear of birds, poison, bugs, the dentist, walking under ladders, Hell, doctors, death, dying, growing old, the fear of people and Thalassophobia! Hellevator exchange is awesome, but easily missed so pay attention! Spinning floor re-appearance is appreciated and adds a fun element to an already pleasurable attraction. Actors all did the best job possible to deliver quality startles and scares. Nurse throwing the wheelchair-bound man on the floor stands out as best new scene, and Doll man is also memorable. Overall duration depends upon one's success (or lack thereof) in navigating chicanery inside the maze. Bloody-faced storyteller at entrance set a most mysterious mood readying customers for the spooky experience. Price of admission is a real TREAT by today's standards! Mt. Healthy always makes the most of what they have to work with, never disappoints, and can always be counted on for a traditional, enjoyable, haunted house experience! This is the way it's supposed to be!
