ANALYSISAn old deserted road off State Route 32 leads to a hidden ghost town just outside of Williamsburg, Ohio known as Terror Town.  The Atmosphere here is the perfect setting for Ohio’s newest haunted attraction.  Natural fog rolls in as the night falls making for such a creepy setting for this scary seasonal adventure.

The haunt offers two separate ticket options - standard and an Extreme "Touch" experience.  Everyone gets the same show, but the extreme visitors wear red glowing bracelets letting the actors know which ones may be touched and actually involved in the scares.  OVH highly recommends the “extreme” admission for maximum fun.  You'll be touched, pushed, grabbed, made to get down on your knees, and will definitely get a little bloody! Ponchos are offered to each customer to protect their clothes from getting dirty during the event. “Vulgar" language is used throughout the haunt, so if you're easily offended, this might not be for you.

The haunt itself begins down a torch-lit trail with an early challenge to ring the town bell.  Doing so may have severe consequences!  Best scenes include: The “Boogieman” nightmare encounter; a confrontation with Rowdy, raucous “redneck Hillbillies;" a heinous “Pig Butcher;" and a 3-door group separation entrance into a most demented “Insane Asylum!”  Loud gunshots, a Gatling gun, and even an ear-piercing, shooting canon ring out in this haunted town!  Other scenes consist of multiple “zombie” attacks, howling “werewolves”, “witches”, and "bloodthirsty vampires!”  The haunt climaxes in the midst of an unrighteous ceremony held inside an old church!  (We're not giving away anything about this scene.)

The characters do a good job of picking out who is doing the extreme option and who isn’t. You won't be intentionally touched if you're not wearing the red glowing bracelet. This attraction is NOT recommended for children under 16 year of age, and is NOT for the faint of heart

Some things that could be worked on to make this attraction even better are more detailing in each of the scenes, and a few scattered, high-tech animatronics to misdirect customers while better enabling actor attacks! More scenes using buildings would also be nice, and would lengthen the attraction!  Maybe use the train depot building as a first scene?  Witches need to serve some purpose, and soundtrack is weak in advance of the church.  One thing for sure is the need to find a way to make sure customers don’t miss the boogieman scene. (Some of the group we were with walked right past it) This is a great scene, so it’s important that people don’t miss it!

This is a really good first year haunt,, and should be visited by all who enjoy the extreme style.  Lots of potential to be a top 13 haunt!
Acting was superb, most notably by:  Kid and Boogieman, insane asylum patients, hillbillies, Pig Butcher, Zombies, and those involved at the church.  Hard to pick just one best actor, but if we did it would go to the “Pig Butcher.”

There’s plenty to do here while waiting.  The town has 3 bars, many vendors, food, and games consisting of Axe Throwing and trying to whack a brain into a zombie's head (Scare Factory prop).  Zombie Brain game is FREE  with paid admission to Terror Town!  This is one of the top 2 extreme style haunts OVH has reviewed.  They also have timed tickets.  You get a text when it's your turn to enter giving visitors the chance to roam the town and experience all the haunt has to offer instead of just waiting in line.  Check out the vendors, watch a movie on the big screen, enjoy a drink in one of their "saloons," or even do some shopping!  The event is held on the sight of The Old West Festival, and cleverly incorporates various structures into the experience, although they are not part of the haunt segment itself.  OVH strongly recommends a 2019 visit to Terror Town!
