RECAP & ANALYSISBloodview has a 40 year history as a non-profit haunted house, and they're consistently one of the best Haunts in Northeast Ohio. Led by the Legion of Terror, this haunt is staffed by professionals who love nothing more than freaking their victims out from the time they buy a ticket until they run screaming back to their car. Bloodview is a Northeast Ohio legend, and that designation is well earned.

The fun honestly began in the line at Bloodview. We had about a 15 minute wait in line to get in (with a covered waiting area), and there was a rotation of at least 8 different actors moving through the lines. From a demented clown to bloody monsters, these folks weren't scared to get up close and personal with you. While Bloodview isn't a "grab and push" haunt, some of the actors will touch you, and one will even get on his knees to explore your feet a little more closely.

There are a couple different parts to the haunt, broken up by a secondary queue. The first part of the first half was a little dead, light on actors, although the scenery was solid. The interactivity in the first half was pretty low, especially when compared to the 1-1 time spent in the line. The actors we did see looked great but relied a little too heavily on jump scares that weren't always well executed. This portion ended with a good outdoor area with a maze that was easy to get turned around in. This part was also a little light on actors but they played their creepy role to a T.

The second half of the haunt was significantly more intense and exciting. Plenty of the actors had distinct roles and would stop you in your tracks. My favorite was a guy in a trench coat trying to sell you protection from the monsters ahead. I won't spoil it but this isn't the type of thing you'd want to be wearing on your head. The haunt got more intense the further you got. They did a great job sending you through the same area through multiple angles, which means you got to interact with the same actors multiple times. The bloody kitchen lady was happy to show you where she sliced her wrist with a metal lunch tray. The layout also gave you a peak at a pair of actors locked up behind bars before forcing you to go through a narrow hallway between the two cages later on. These are just a few examples of the excellent scenes and great actors Bloodview had in their second half.

Every year this haunt reinvents itself and still ends up as one of the best around. They changed massive pieces from last year, and, with their "themed weekends" you can go over and over again and have a great time even in the same year. Bloodview takes a lot of pride in what they do and that shows. Every actor, even the ones focused on jump scares, played their part, and each had a unique look to them. This isn't an overly gory haunt but it's a great experience. (J.MO.)
